In early January, 2011, the IL House and Senate passed HB 5420 to reform the State Medicaid program. Health & Medicine is reviewing the changes and will convene stakeholders to discuss implications of these reforms, along with federal health reform, at upcoming forums.
The Illinois Maternal and Child Health Coalition has put together a summary of the new law, which is expected to be signed by Governor Quinn. We encourage you to view the summary to learn more about these reforms.
On Wednesday, January 5, 2011, Health & Medicine Board Member and current APHA President, Linda Rae Murray, MD, MPH, hosted an APHA Abstract Writing Seminar. Dr. Murray shared tips for writing an abstract and submitting it to the APHA 2011 Annual Meeting in Washington, DC.
