Advocating for Low-Income Clients in the New Healthcare Environment

Join the Chicago Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and Health & Medicine Policy Research Group for an advocacy training for safety net and long-term services and support providers on Jan. 30th, 2013.

This advocacy training will help providers better understand and interact with the new laws and programs that help low-income and uninsured patients access healthcare in IL, including information on the following:
  • The new CountyCare program at the Cook County Health & Hospitals System (Susan Greene and Jane Longo, Cook County Health & Hospitals System)
  • The new Medicaid managed care programs in the Chicago region, including the Integrated Care Program (Kristen Pavle, Health & Medicine Policy Research Group)
  • The new charity care eligibility standards at IL hospitals (Carrie Chapman, Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago)
