On April 19th, HMPRG and the Loyola University Chicago Shareholder Advocacy Committee co-sponsored an after-work presentation by Dr. Tim Johnson, former Medical Editor for ABC News; reporter for Nightline, 20/20 and World News Tonight; and founding editor of the Harvard Medical School Health Letter. The evening was well attended - 200 policymakers, academics, students, practitioners and others who are looking for both pragmatic framing and solutions for health care reform issues. The evening kicked off with a welcome by Dr. Darrell Wheeler the new Dean of the Loyola University School of Social Work , followed by an intro by ABC 7 Chicago Feature & Entertainment Reporter, Janet Davies, graciously filling in for Medical Reporter and Anchor Sylvia Perez who was out ill. Dr. Johnson's topic: The Truth About Getting Sick in America: The Real Problems with Health Care and What We Can Do was well received by the audience and led to a powerful Q & A session the Dr. Johnson and Quentin Young fielding questions and framing the health care debate. The evening ended with Dr. Johnson signing copies of The Truth About Getting Sick in America... If you are interested in purchasing unautographed copies, email Karin
