On April 19th, HMPRG and the Loyola University Chicago Shareholder Advocacy Committee co-sponsored an after-work presentation by Dr. Tim Johnson, former Medical Editor for ABC News; reporter for Nightline, 20/20 and World News Tonight; and founding editor of the Harvard Medical School Health Letter. The evening was well attended - 200 policymakers, academics, students, practitioners and others who are looking for both pragmatic framing and
solutions for health care reform issues.
The evening kicked off with a welcome by Dr. Darrell Wheeler the new Dean of the Loyola University School of Social Work , followed by an intro by ABC 7 Chicago Feature & Entertainment Reporter, Janet Davies, graciously filling in for Medical Reporter and Anchor Sylvia Perez who was out ill.
Dr. Johnson's topic: The Truth About Getting Sick in America: The Real Problems with Health Care and What We Can Do was well received by the audience and led to a powerful Q & A session the Dr. Johnson and Quentin Young fielding questions and framing the health care debate.
