As you know, our work depends on your support. Making a planned gift to Health & Medicine makes it possible to combine supporting a cause you feel strongly about with sound financial planning.

During 2008 we will be rolling out a comprehensive Planned Giving program that embraces a whole host of estate planning and income producing options.

Right now, you can give gifts through your estate by:

  • Naming Health & Medicine as a beneficiary in your will or revocable trust
  • Naming Health & Medicine as the beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k) or other qualified plan
  • Naming Health & Medicine as beneficiary of your paid up life insurance policy

By giving this way, your assets remain in your control during your lifetime. The benefit to you and to us is that:

  • You can direct your bequest to a particular purpose (you will need to check with Health & Medicine to make sure your gift can be used as intended)
  • You will be able to modify your bequest if your circumstances change
  • There is no upper limit on the estate tax deductions that can be taken for charitable bequests
  • You know that your gift will benefit Health and Medicine in the future just as you have specified today

Anyone can craft a planned gift to meet his or her charitable and financial goals, with the assistance of a financial adviser or planner, or an estate or trust attorney.

If you have questions or would like to discuss Planned Giving options or a Legacy Gift made to honor someone special to you, please call Karin Pritikin, Development Officer, at 312.372.4292 extension 30, or send Karin an email.
