Mayor Rahm Emanuel recently defended himself from gubernatorial candidate Chris Kennedy’s charge of purposely gentrifying Chicago. Emanuel expressed concern about Chicago’s reduced black population, asking, “Where are the ideas? Where are the solutions, real solutions to real challenges that make those challenges opportunities?” Since he asked, below are several ideas to slow Chicago’s gentrification, which pushes people out of Chicago.
