Health & Medicine Policy Research Group recently presented testimony to the Chicago City Council Committee on the Budget and Government Operations regarding the proposed fiscal year 2024 budget for the Chicago Department of Public Health.
In the testimony, Epplin emphasized the importance of increasing corporate funding for the Chicago Department of Public Health in order to adequately address the health needs of the city’s residents.
Epplin acknowledged the positive step of increasing funding for mental health services by $6.5 million, but stressed that more funding is needed for other critical public health services.
