Trainings on Trauma-Informed Policy & Practice
More than 61% of adults in Illinois have experienced at least one Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE), a potentially traumatic event such as abuse, witnessing violence, and experiencing discrimination, linked to poor health and social outcomes later in life. Community experiences such as gun violence, lack of educational or economic opportunities, and poor or unaffordable housing can also have detrimental effects on later outcomes.
There are many things that we can do in our communities, our workplaces, and our homes to prevent adversity in childhood and promote resilience and healing throughout life, including embedding trauma-informed practices in our work.
Are you innterested in solutions-oriented trainings or other capacity building supports to transform your organization, institution, or community into an environment where all people can thrive?
With extensive experience providing technical assistance to hospitals, health departments, social service organizations, and county-level initiatives to help them advance their trauma-informed organizational transformation, the Illinois ACEs Response Collaborative envisions a thriving and equitable Illinois in which individuals, families, communities, and all systems and sectors work together to prevent trauma, heal, and flourish.
We are thrilled to release our new Trainings on Trauma-Informed Policy & Practice brochure to organizations within and beyond the social service and health sectors!
