Chloe Gurin-Sands, MPH

Chloe is a public health professional with a passion for bringing health and environmental equity considerations into planning and policy for the built environment. As Manager of Health Equity and Planning at the Metropolitan Planning Council, she integrates a health equity approach into land use and zoning policy, community-led planning for riverfront sites, among other projects. Chloe’s expertise includes qualitative and quantitative research, health impact assessment, technical assistance, and identity-based intergroup dialogue facilitation. Chloe earned a master’s in public health from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she was an active member of the Radical Public Health group. She also serves on the board of the Calumet Collaborative, was a member of the 2021 Urban Land Institute Health Leaders Network. As a representative of MPC, Chloe currently serves on the boards of the Illinois Environmental Council and is a co-chair for the Partnership for Healthy Chicago.
