Webinar: 4 – 5 p.m. Q&A: 5 – 5:30 p.m.
Immigrant rights are essential to health equity. The current U.S. political context threatens the safety, well-being, and health of many communities, including immigrant communities. These threats both cause direct harm and stoke fear.
What steps can health organizations and health workers take to protect immigrant rights? How can we ensure health facilities and services are welcoming, affirming, and as safe as possible for all?
Co-sponsored by Health & Medicine and the Collaborative for Health Equity Cook County, this webinar will provide basic, practical legal information to those working within health care settings on the legal rights, resources, and needed policies, procedures, and training to protect immigrant and refugee populations.
Speakers include Cook County Commissioner Alma Anaya; Carrie Chapman, JD; and Steve Rothschild, MD.
The forum is free to attend. Registration is required.
