Health & Medicine Policy Research Group is proud to share our 2025 Policy Agenda. Our top policy priorities are divided into seven categories:
- Aging Equity
- Healing-centered and Trauma-informed
- Health Workforce
- Health Care as a Human Right
- Housing Justice
- Public Health System Capacity
- Reproductive Justice
Our organization develops an annual policy agenda to record and share our top policy priorities, which are shown on page 1. Under each category, there is a statement of purpose, which describes a vision for what we hope to accomplish in that given area of policy. Under the statement of purpose are one or more bullet points of more specific initiatives that we are seeking to advance to support that purpose.
We publish our policy agenda to inform current and potential partners what our top priorities are, which can inform individuals and organizations about partnership and collaboration opportunities. Our work is always done in partnership with others, so we both reach out to potential partners and love it when we are contacted for these opportunities as well. We also use the policy agenda to inform elected and appointed officials of our positions on various issues.
The second page of our policy agenda document shows additional priorities that Health & Medicine sometimes weighs in on via signing onto letters, signing witness slips, making a phone call, or other brief contributions—often at pivotal moments. Our organization knows that virtually every policy has some effect on health, so we weigh in on other important policy matters as we are able.
Of course, our agenda changes somewhat from one year to another. Sometimes, we will elevate an issue from this secondary list to a primary priority either mid-year or later, depending on our capacity and the challenges and opportunities before us.
We remain nimble and responsive, especially as there are significant threats to public health and health care systems—and to the public’s health.
