Honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Day

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

As I read through hundreds of powerful MLK Jr. quotes recently, this one stood out to me as perfect for our times. This sentiment is true always, but right now, this moment demands that we speak out about things that matter. It matters that the dual pandemics of COVID-19 and structural racism are literally killing our country.

It doesn’t have to be this way. We all need to raise our voices to demand structural change so that we can live in a world that supports the dignity and life of every single person.

As we approach the MLK Jr. holiday, I hope the words of Dr. King will inspire you to challenge yourself to be brave and act in ways that matter.
