On Saturday, June 4, 2022 the Chicago Area Health Education Center (AHEC) at Health & Medicine Policy Research Group will host its second Black Men in White Coats Youth Summit at Malcolm X College in Chicago.
The summit will bring together 500 students, parents, educators, clinicians, and community leaders to inspire youth to consider careers in healthcare while laying the foundation for success via mentorship and networking. “Research shows that Black men are increasingly less likely to attend medical school and hold careers as doctors in the United States, and this decline in the availability of Black doctors exacerbates racial disparities in access and quality of health care,” says Sheronda Kimbrough, Director, Workforce Programs.
Please consider attending or sponsoring our 2022 Black Men in White Coats Summit and help improve diversity of those working in health care in the Chicago area. Please keep an eye out for more details after the New Year.
