Dr. Jessica C. Williams, a 2018 graduate of the University of Illinois-Chicago College of Dentistry (2018) and a 2017-2018 Chicago Area Schweitzer Fellow, was recently recognized as one of the ADA’s 10 Under 10 Award Winners in 2024.
During her time as a Schweitzer Fellow, Dr. Williams developed a pivotal oral health project aimed at connecting transient, low-income adults to essential care, showcasing her early dedication to addressing health disparities. This project, coupled with her subsequent residency at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine and a General Practice Residency at Meharry Medical College, solidified her commitment to improving public health outcomes.
Dr. Williams’s work extends beyond clinical care into advocacy and policy, demonstrated through her service with the National Health Service Corps in rural Iowa and her involvement with several public health organizations. Her efforts are driven by a deep understanding of the social determinants of health and a passion for making healthcare accessible to all, especially underserved populations.
